Activities at The Guest House are an important part of the patient’s treatment plan. During Assessment, each patient and family meet with staff to help us learn about hobbies they have enjoyed, or the work they have done.

Our Activities Department and Volunteers offer a full calendar of daily activities to choose from including an annual picnic, holiday parties and other special events.

Tuesday Morning is Wood Shop time! Patients can sand, paint and craft wooden items for decorations and gifts assisted by Nursing and Activities staff and Experienced Volunteers. Wednesday Mornings there is Music provided by a Licensed Music Therapist. Patients participate and remember lyrics for their favorite songs. Every week there are Chair Exercises and Flowing Rhythm times. Every afternoon there are games, puzzles and newspaper articles with the group. Puppies visit weekly with trained Volunteers from The Hall County Humane Society. One afternoon each week Ms. Ginger plays favorite show tunes, hymns and patriotic anthems on the family room piano.

Activities are designed to gently stimulate our patient’s mind, body and spirit so that they continue to have a sense of well-being. Patients are encouraged to participate in activities, but are free to spend quiet time, reading or visiting with Staff, Volunteers or other patients.
